Sesame Seed Cracker Recipe


These crackers are a very simple bake and a lovely snack to have to hand. This recipe will make a large batch but can be scaled down for a smaller one. The ingredients you will need are:

  • 280g flour (this can be plain flour, wholemeal flour or a mix of the two)
  • 110g sesame seeds
  • 80g parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 160ml water
  1. Mix the flour, seeds, cheese, salt and baking powder in a large bowl.
  2. Add the oil and stir until combined.
  3. Add the water until the dough starts to stick together.
  4. Knead the dough lightly about 5 times. cover and allow to rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  6. Working with small amounts of dough at a time roll the dough out on a floured surface, cut into shapes and place on a lined baking tray. Repeat with all the dough.
  7. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, turning halfway through baking time until crispy.
  8. Leave to cool and store in an airtight container.
