Protein Shake Recipe


Mr L&B has protein shakes quite regularly as part of his weights programme but it isn’t something I’ve really looked into. Recently I’ve upped my fitness routine and unconsciously reduced the amount of chicken I eat, in turn reducing evening proteins.

If you follow me on Twitter you will know I have one day of the week where I double up on exercise classes by doing an hour of circuits and 45 minutes of spin. As this is quite intense I decided to try having a protein shake after my workout. It’s a great quick way to to refuel after exercise. This is the recipe I’ve been using for my shake:

  • 1tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 small banana
  • 3tbsp whey protein
  • 3tbsp porridge oats
  • Approx 250ml water / almond milk – I tend to use about half water and half almond milk

I simply add all the ingredients to my nutribullet and top with the water/almond milk mix to the top of the mix line on the nutribullet and mix together. It tastes really good and actually fills me up after a hard exercise routine, what do you have to refuel after exercise?
